Megan Mercer concentrates her practice on general litigation, including the representation of clients in high-stakes personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, and tort cases. Megan assumes critical roles in case management, where she leads trial preparation efforts and aids in the resolution of complex legal issues. Her legal practice is bolstered by her background in civil litigation, which gives her an edge in understanding the intricate issues her clients face. She has litigated over 100 civil matters, including wrongful death, fire loses, products liability, automobile accidents, and real estate errors and omissions. Megan has also successfully argued motions to dismiss, and has secured several summary judgment awards and advantageous settlements. In addition, Megan has extensive courtroom and trial experience as a criminal attorney, where she first-chaired several winning bench and jury trials; managed all aspects of a tremendous caseload in felony court; handled restitution / sentencing / suppression / post-conviction / probation revocation hearings; evaluated evidence; negotiated plea agreements; prepared cases for pre-trial conference negotiations; reviewed investigations for legal and factual sufficiency; assisted victims and victim advocates; corresponded with witnesses; monitored probation cases; and presented arguments and sentencing recommendations to the court.

A skilled advocate for an attorney of her vintage, Megan has presented at countless mediations, taken numerous depositions, conducted expert witness interviews, and managed extensive discovery. Notably, she prevailed on an appeal in Ridgeway v. Jacobs, No. 67A04-SC-410 (Ind. Ct. App. Mar. 30, 2015).

During her legal career, Megan has represented a prestigious insurance company, focusing on insurance defense matters. She has also worked as an associate attorney for two of the Carmel area’s most prestigious family law firms, where she assisted individuals with issues including divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, adoption, and surrogacy. In short, Megan is well-rounded and trial-tested.
